2 years after the event of Death Note...
The world knows of the existence of the Death Notes and the Shinigamis, at least, they suspect it. The crime has reduce significantly but with Kira gone, its only a matter of time before the world falls back into chaos. Governement and crime organisations are slowly rebuilding after the massacre created by the one who wanted to be a god. Tho he was killed, some still belive Kira is still out there, waiting for his followers to help him build the New World.
